Preparation Time: 45 minutes
Serving Size: 24 mini breads (50g each)

Ingredients:

  • 300g potatoes
  • 200g tapioca starch
  • 50g sour cassava flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 5 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 15g nutritional yeast

Instructions:

  • Prepare the Potatoes:
  • Start by peeling and chopping the potatoes into small chunks.
  • Boil them in salted water until they become soft and fork-tender.
  • Once cooked, drain the potatoes and mash them thoroughly. Set them aside.
  • Create the Dough:
  • In a small pot, combine the water, vegetable oil, and salt. Bring them to a gentle boil.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the tapioca starch, sour cassava flour, and baking powder.
  • Carefully pour the boiling liquid mixture into the dry ingredients. Mix it all together until it forms a cohesive dough.
  • Add the Final Touches:
  • Incorporate the mashed potatoes and nutritional yeast into the dough. Continue mixing until the ingredients are well combined and the dough is smooth.
  • Shape the Mini Breads:
  • Take portions of the dough and roll them into small 50g balls. The dough may be slightly sticky, but that’s normal.
  • Baking Time:
  • Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit).
  • Lightly grease a baking tray with vegetable oil or use parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  • Place the mini bread balls on the tray, leaving some space between them.
  • Bake to Perfection:
  • Pop the tray into the preheated oven and bake for approximately 30 minutes or until the breads turn a beautiful golden brown color and develop a crispy exterior.
  • Serve and Enjoy:
  • Once out of the oven, let them cool for a few minutes, but not too long because they’re best enjoyed warm!
  • Serve your Brazilian Vegan Cheese Bread as an appetizer, snack, or alongside your favorite vegan dipping sauce.

These little cheesy wonders are sure to disappear quickly, so be sure to make a batch large enough to share. Whether you’re hosting a gathering or just treating yourself, these Brazilian Vegan Cheese Breads will satisfy your cravings and leave you craving for more. Enjoy!
